Many gamers wondered how quickly Blizzard would make a beta version of WoW Classic Burning Crusade available after the developer announced that it would be arriving "soon" during BlizzConline, and the question has finally been answered.
The World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic beta is expected to begin this week after early testers shared screenshots of the client on Battle.net, and the World of Warcraft Classic Gold for Burning Crusade will also be available at SSEGold.com, with more players set to receive invites in the coming weeks.
World of Warcraft Classic players have long been waiting for the start of The Burning Crusade Classic beta. This is the next major expansion for World of Warcraft Classic, and for many people it's the holy grail of World of Warcraft content.
The beta was supposed to begin in mid-February, according to leaks, though it didn't happen. However, it looks like the wait is finally over. There's a good reason to believe it's happening this week.
World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic players will return to the original battle against the Burning Legion for the first time since 2007.
The World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic beta client has officially appeared on the Battle.net launcher. It's only available to early testers, and the servers aren't playable yet. But the fact that it's there means that the beta will be launched any time now.
You can see the Burning Crusade Classic Beta client in the dropdown on the left side of the screenshots. Early testers were even able to download and install it ahead of time.
They were even able to load the client, and although they can't log in because the servers aren't active, the login screen is enabled. It shows that the iconic veteran players of the dark portal know all too well.
But that's not all. They went a step further and took a screenshot of the brand new Ray Traced Shadows option in the system menu, which should make the game much more enjoyable.
It's still all speculation at this point, and there has been no official confirmation that the beta is happening this week.
However, the signs are there and the time is now. But perhaps more importantly, the hype is real.
